Tourism is key, says VisitBritain

The Chairman of VisitBritain, Christopher Rodrigues, is urging governments around the world to do more to maintain tourism momentum, as a key means of grappling with the global economic downturn. Rodrigues said that with tourism accounting for almost 10% of global GDP and nearly 11% of world exports, the sector has a “very high employment return on investment for every dollar spent,” with about 220 million jobs around the world involved with tourism in some way.
