On the road with the legends of New Zealand

AUCKLAND - A Kiwi invention, the KRUSE Audio Guide, has been created for travellers wishing to learn about culture and history while self-driving around New Zealand.

KRUSE has an audio commentary network of more than 2,300 points of interest.

Through innovative use of GPS technology, the guide automatically plays commentary through a vehicle’s stereo system that relates to a traveller’s location.

Available information includes history of towns and regions, Maori legends, stories told by characters who influenced New Zealand’s history, and descriptions of wildlife and culture.

In a statement, the company said, “No longer do travellers have to thumb through guidebooks, juggle driving and researching, or worry that they'll miss the best of what New Zealand offers.

“The KRUSE Audio Guide will transform grassy knolls back into ancient battle sites, modern towns to their historic origins and bring many long-dead characters back to life to tell their personal stories.”

The KRUSE® Audio Guide costs NZ$10 per day.
